Chiropractic Adjustment Care, Treatment & Benefits
A holistic approach to wellness
Your body is a remarkable self-healing system, constantly providing signals and messages to guide you towards balance and vitality.
Rather than merely suppressing symptoms, we invite you to listen attentively to these messages. We are dedicated to helping you decipher the language of your body and understand the root causes of your physical discomfort.
We embrace a holistic approach to chiropractic care, recognizing the intricate connections between your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Understanding Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a healthcare discipline that emphasizes the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
It centers around the relationship between the spine and the nervous system, recognizing the impact of spinal misalignments on overall health. Chiropractors undergo extensive training to assess, diagnose, and treat these spinal dysfunctions, allowing your body to function optimally and maintain its natural balance. By applying precise manual adjustments or gentle techniques, chiropractors correct the spine, relieving nerve interference and restoring proper nervous system flow and function. This approach not only addresses immediate pain or discomfort but also aims to enhance overall well-being, boost the immune system, and promote the body’s ability to heal itself.
Techniques and treatment
Chiropractic techniques may vary depending on individual needs and patients preferences. This personalized approach enables us to tailor a treatment plan specifically for you. Everyone can benefit from chiropractic care, because at our clinic we offer a diversified approach. The spinal manipulations you might have seen nowadays on videos have little to do with real chiropractic care.
This is a short list of the techniques we are able to provide at Alive Chiropractic:
SMT (spinal manipulative therapy), also known as “adjustments”: this traditional chiropractic method involves targeted manual thrusts to realign vertebrae. These adjustments may produce a popping sound, known as cavitation, as gas is released from the joints. Don’t worry, it’s completely normal and painless!
Instrument-assisted adjustments: these tools allow for a more controlled application of force, making them suitable for patients who prefer a softer touch or have specific needs. Sometimes the bench itself can be used to “Drop” the cervical, thoracic or lumbar spine.
Sacro Occipital Technique: particularly beneficial for treating pelvic related issues, this technique involves a gentle approach with the use of pelvic blocks, to realign the pelvis and promote healing. It can provide relief for a vast variety of conditions. Some principles of the same technique are often applied to Osteopathy.
Craniosacral: this is a healing modality that recognizes the body’s inherent capacity for self-correction and healing. It is based on the concept that the craniosacral system, which includes the cranial bones, the spinal column, and the protective membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord, has its own rhythmic movement. This gentle, hands-on therapy focuses on detecting and releasing restrictions or imbalances in the craniosacral system, thereby facilitating the body’s natural ability to heal and self-regulate.
Breathing: from the very moment we are born, to the moment we die, breathing is a constant function of our body. Breathing movements have been demonstrated in the foetuses of every mammalian species, and they are a critical component of normal foetal development. Recently, the potential therapeutic links between breathing and chronic low back pain have been investigated by researchers within experimental and clinical settings, following three main approaches which are shown to be interrelated: structural (the relationship between the diaphragm and the lumbar spine), physiological (how breathing affects oxygen, heart rate, acidity levels in our bloodstream) and psycho/neurological (by increasing awareness of our breath we increase awareness of our body). Dr. Edo is a renowned expert in breathing techniques and uses breathing exercises with most of his patients.
Rehab: when necessary we offer rehab as part of chiropractic care, which is mostly centred on strengthening and stretching exercises.

“The beauty about chiropractic is the fact that it works with natural means. It puts nothing new into the body nor does it take away any natural gland or organ. Chiropractic simply releases life forces within the body, and lets nature do her work in a normal manner”.
